Shelter RZ F1 can be used as a typical, stock or rootstock selected for its ability to resist infection by certain soilborne pathogens during grafting of tomatoes. It can be joined with scions of other tomato varieties with limited ability to stand soilborne pathogens thus improving their strength against soilborne pathogen attack. The scion of the grafted tomato represents the upper portion of the plant and is selected for its fruit quality characteristics.
