Aloe vera is a succulent plant species that is stemless or very short-stemmed with thick, greenish, fleshy leaves that fan out from the plant's central stem. The margin of the leaf is serrated with small teeth. The useful parts of aloe are the gel and latex. Aloe Vera is associated with a number of health benefits such as skin treatment for conditions such as Psoriasis, Seborrhea, Dandruff, Minor burns, Skin abrasions, Skin injured by radiation, Herpes sores, Acne, Anal fissures. The gel seems to help lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. Aloe vera has lately become a commercial crop with great potential for profitability due to the emergence of many herbal companies in Uganda.
